One Day Later

I made it to my parents' house. We're well-provisioned with food and other supplies. There's a creek nearby if the water stops working, and plenty of edible wildlife. I hear rattlesnakes are quite tasty. We also have more oak trees than we know what to do with, so we're well-set for firewood (good thing we have those wood-burning fireplaces! we'll need them when the propane runs out) and acorns for making mush and bread (once we figure out how to leech them).

We were worried that we aren't rural enough, but strangely, that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I saw a horde of zombies shambling up the highway last night. Today, they've vanished. My mom thinks maybe it's a twenty-four-hour virus and they're all recovered now. My dad thinks maybe they've torn themselves to pieces. Either way, things won't be going back to normal; there's been too much disruption. Nothing definitive in the news yet - I only hope the dish and the internet connection keep working.

Worried about tears_of_nienna. Her last post didn't sound good. (ETA: She says she's feeling better! Maybe my mom's right.)

Still no word from my sister.

A few Greasemonkey scripts I'm finding useful

I recently installed Greasemonkey, a Firefox extension which, quote, "allows you to customize the way webpages look and function."

Here's a few I've found so far that found a few I like.

LiveJournal Scripts
(These seem to work for LJ clones, too. At least, the Thread Unfolder works for me on JournalFen. But they don't seem to work with a few layouts.)

LJ Taglister Makes your tags list show up in your update window. Just click on one to add it!

LJ Thread Unfolder with "Unfold All" No more need to open new tabs.

I also have the Firefox addons LiveJournal Addons (friends page monitoring and birthday reminders, among other things) and LiveJournal Hook (adds formatting menu on right click).
