Eh, and now I'm wondering what GL's point was with all this, unless he really didn't think it through and was just trying to wrap things up happily. If Luke running off to save his friends in ESB was reckless and a bad idea, why does running off to look for Leia in RotJ work out for Luke and Han? Was it that, like you suggested, Luke sensed they had to? But then why not more clues that was the case in the movie? Hmm, I need to get better at thinking of explanations if I'm going to keep coming up with so many questions.
