Blech. Just got wisdom teeth out and am wishing for some of Madame Pomfrey's medimagic...
Title: Jedi, Istari, and Wizards: A Secret History (7/7)
Fandom: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, X-Men (Disclaimer)
Categories: Gen, PG, and... what would you call it - Metafiction?
Summary: An over-eager pop historian draws some interesting conclusions. The final section of the "history."
Part VII: The Road Goes Ever On and On
New connections between the Jedi, the Istari, mutants, and modern witches and wizards are being uncovered daily. Only last month, for example, a paper was published in Jedi Scholars' Journal cataloging the many etymological connections between the elven tongues, Westron, Old Basic, and Old Corellian. The paper is too lengthy to summarize here, but note the shared place-name "Endor." Another paper, published in Journal of the American Magical Association, proposes a connection between the mysterious Whills and the equally mysterious Watchers based on recent findings.
Of course, there are still those who disbelieve the connections and offer evidence intended to debunk them, but in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary, it seems clear that theirs will soon be the minority position. This historian will even stick her neck out and predict that, if the fabled Journal of the Whills is ever discovered, it will confirm the conclusions presented in this paper.
Back to Part VI: Legacies of Ancient Days
Back to Part I: Of Ancient Forests
Now please, somebody stop me! Seriously, I could go on like this for dozens more pages, given the time. You may judge from that what sort of obsessive personality I have.
