Well, you would be an extremely reasonable villain :D (I wouldn't want all the governing hassle either. What's it all for?) But a villain with enough narcissism to want a grander-sounding name while still being reasonable enough not to go all Dark Lord about it could still strike a good balance, I should think.
Depends on which German name. Beyer, eg, isn't too threatening, but something with more "harsh" sounds could be. Especially z- and v-sounds, probably, maybe some k's and ch's. I'm trying to think of one. (Well, "Grindlewald" might be a Swiss ski resort, but though not quite menacing, it sounds serious, at least.)
