Thanks to galactica_news, I found a great Gaeta picspam/primer. If you haven't seen BSG, you can still read the tragic story of Felix Gaeta. (That moment in season 1 really is the last time he was ever happy, wasn't it? Wait, no, there was the groundbreaking ceremony at New Caprica. Yeah, that ended well.)

And thanks to YouTube, you can hear Gaeta sing. He can't even show off his gorgeous voice unless he's been shot and had his leg amputated, poor guy. Why did they not have karaoke night at Joe's Bar every few episodes? WHY?

I really need to watch those webisodes for the MOAR GAETA.

You're welcome! Poor Felix, thwarted in... well, everything.

One of the fun things about watching the show with my parents was seeing how non-sf people interpreted things. They also have whatever the opposite of slash goggles are. So imagine my surprise when we got to the Pegasus arc and after about three seconds of Kara and Cain being in the same room, my mom said, "Cain wants Kara, doesn't she?" (Dad: BUH?) If even MY MOM can pick up on it, you know it must be canon! (As Razor later confirmed.) I think I'll ask her about Gaeta and Baltar...

Yeah, Cain's pretty hard to miss. With Felix and Gaius, I noticed the fanboy type of "homoerotic tension," but sort of shrugged it off b/c we only see Gaius pursuing women; and I thought Felix was a little taken aback by Gaius's desperate displays of gratitude and bathroom stalking. Then again, minus slash-spex, who knows what I missed.

I thought they definitely played it ambiguously so that the average viewer would see the relationship as platonic, but with a wink-wink "OR IS IT?" aspect for slash fans. Which... was kind of what they did with Roslin/Adama for a couple seasons, come to think of it (like with the New Caprica smoking scene - "did they or didn't they?" is the message I got from that). I find this rather annoying, but it does make sense that some people will be in that maybe-crushing on each other stage if you have a large cast, so... meh.
