It's even worse when you remember that soon they will be a Dead Evil Lesbian Couple. I'm so disappointed with what they did with Cain - which is very little. She's brutal, and then occasionally looks worried or makes a little speech about how the war is making them do things (which now sounds like her trying to make excuses for her bloodthirstiness rather than being actually how she feels). But the character development was pretty skimpy for everyone. Kendra was a Classics major? Why? How'd she end up in the military? Who knows? It really was just too much in too little time.
On the bright side, they did so much better at having multiple scenes in which women actually talk to each other (about something other than men and babies). Kendra and Starbuck were marvelous every time they interacted, from early clashes to a semi-bonding-but-still-tense scene in the kitchen to doing a mission together. Why can TPTB not recognize when they're doing something right?
